An interesting day trip exploring a few cultural and heritage wonders of India
After a quick stopover en route for South Indian breakfast, we make our way to a quaint village to explore an amazing medieval temple with the biggest Nandi bull and Naga snake stone sculptures and the largest hand-painted frescos in India. It is also the home of a few mysterious hanging pillars
Next, watch skilful workers create silk thread out of silk cocoons at a cottage sericulture workshop. Get to know the various stages in the creation of fine silk cloth that this region is historically famous for.
Move on to explore a 9th-century temple frozen in time. It is the oldest one in the Bangalore region. Learn about the fabled empires of South India that have left their marks within its boundaries.
Lunch is at a height of 4850 feet atop Nandi hills. The highest point in the region with sweeping views and snaking roads.
Next, we explore the ramparts of a 15th-century fortification at the birthplace of Tipu, known as the Tiger of Mysore. Get to know his impact on South India's destiny.
